My Petal

2003

to my sweet little girl

Beautiful eyes.
Hair everywhere.
The most glowing smile this side of the sun.
A star.
An angel.
My petal.
She's being all she can be and at night,
when she thanks The Universe for her many gifts and blessings,
she remembers to say thank you
"for making me, me."
And,
if that is all I ever manage to teach my
precious daughter,
I believe I have done a good job.
